Through the years, growth in Dallas expanded north into Plano then continued into Frisco making it a bedroom community for many professionals working in the Dallas-Ft. Worth Area.

Like many Dallas suburbs, Frisco is accumulating many retail properties including Stonebriar Centre which opened in 2000 and is a 165 store regional mall.   Ikea opened it’s 310,000 sq. ft. furniture store in 2005.  All along Preston Road, which is one of the north-south thoroughfares of the city, are multiple retails establishments and restaurant chains.   Frisco Square is a mixed-use development that has become the new downtown.  Frisco Square offers about 250 residential rental units, seven restaurants and approximately 40,000 sq. ft. of commercial space as well as the City Hall, Library and public commons.
